How a university research team replaced 3 tools with one chat

The challenge

A university social science research team was conducting a multi-state survey on community health outcomes. They had three separate systems: a survey platform for data collection, a database for response storage, and Excel for analysis and reporting.

Each system required different expertise. The survey platform needed a trained administrator. Database queries required SQL knowledge. Excel analysis required statistical proficiency. Only one team member had all three skills, and she was spending more time on tooling than on actual research.


The deployment

The results

The principal investigator generated her first interactive dashboard from her phone while waiting at the airport. A field coordinator created a regional comparison report during a lunch break.

The three-tool workflow collapsed into one: send a message, get an answer. Report generation time dropped from days to minutes. The team member who previously spent hours writing SQL queries was freed up to focus on research methodology and data interpretation.
